The DW50 Collection was created by DW Drum Designer, John Good, using special tone woods like Persimmon, Spruce, and Maple, with Rosewood inlays, to commemorate five decades of shared inspiration.

The DW 50th Anniversary shells were handcrafted in the California Custom Shop with hand-selected North American Maple, Spruce and Persimmon for classic warmth, rich tonality, and punchy attack.
These HVLT™ shells are enveloped in a beautiful veneer of rare, quilted Maple, and laser-cut Rosewood 50th Anniversary badges and bands.
To commemorate DW’s golden anniversary, these drums are fitted with antique gold hardware.
A Lifetime of Inspiration
50th Anniversary Drum Set
Inspired by John Good’s memories of growing up in Northern Italy, the DW Collector’s Series 50th Anniversary Limited-Edition 6-Piece Shell Pack matches persimmon and spruce, two of the woods that stimulated his lifelong passion for crafting the perfect sound.
The drums are constructed from a combination of persimmon, a hard-tone wood similar to purpleheart that produces thick attack and projection, combined with spruce that boosts warmth and tonality. Hardware and cymbals sold separately.
These HVLT™ shells are handcrafted in our California custom shop, featuring a veneer of rare, quilted maple and fitted with inlaid maple and rosewood 50th Anniversary badges and bands. These drums are finished in a burnt toast burst lacquer and equipped with antique gold hardware.

To celebrate five decades of being The Drummer’s Choice, we’re excited to offer a limited-edition 6.5 x 14” 50th Anniversary snare drum built with DW’s innovative craftsmanship. Each snare includes an inlaid maple and rosewood 50th Anniversary badge and band that hugs the shell and the quilted maple veneer.
Constructed from a 12-ply hybrid persimmon-spruce HVLT shell, this limited-edition snare has a warm tonality without compromising any attack. The 50th Anniversary snares are fitted with antique gold hardware, a MAG throw-off, True-Hoops, and much more.
DW will produce 200 of these 50th Anniversary 6.5 x 14” snares and each will include a DW 50th Anniversary case and a signed certificate of authenticity.
