Throw-Offs
DW offers 2 styles of snare throw-offs; Traditional Delta ball-bearing throw-off and all new MAG™ throw-off.
A purposefully simple design, the MAG™ is a workhorse drop throw-off with horizontal
tension adjustment and smooth, easy-adjust action. It gets its name from a clever magnet
that's integrated into the body of the throw-off. When the handle is in the up position,
it won’t release without a slight tug. Combined with the innovative new 3P, three-position
butt plate, it might be the most reliable and adjustable strainer system we've ever built.
Both throw-offs are available in all five
Custom Shop drum hardware finishes.
Hardware Colors
DW Snare Drums are available in five distinct hardware color options; Chrome, Satin Chrome, Black Nickel, Black Chrome, and 24 Karat Gold. This includes lugs, hoops, STM™, and tom legs. Keep in mind, our stands are available in Chrome and 24 Karat Gold.
Hoops
Our Standard Triple Flange Hoops give your drums a great versitile sound and are available in all our lug colors; Chrome, Satin Chrome, Black Nickel, Black Chrome, and 24 Karat Gold. Our Die Cast Hoops come standard on our Jazz Shells and due to their added weight, they give your drums more attack and less resonance. Die Cast is available in Chrome.
Heads
All Custom Shop and Eco-X Project snare drums include DW coated-crimped
batterside heads with tuning sequence and DW clear-crimped snareside
heads. Both are single-ply Ambassador weight heads and are made in
California by Remo USA.
True-Pitch® Tuning Rods
To give drummers even more control over their sound, DW created its patented True-Pitch® rod system. The rods feature 10/32 threads rather than the 10/24 that’s standard on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process. True-Pitch® rods are only available in chrome and gold.
True-Tone® Snare Wires
Every Collector's Series® snare comes with True-Tone® custom wires
for enhanced response and snap. The wires feature specially-designed stainless steel coils
and brass-end plates for perfect snare-to-head contact.
