In an ongoing effort to offer drummers a variety of tonal possibilities, as well as the latest in advanced shell technology, DW has announced the introduction of SSC (Specialized Shell Configuration) as an option on all maple Collector's Series drums. SSC is the culmination of years of experimentation with the benefits of grain orientation. Patented shell technologies such as VLT (Vertical Low Timbre), diagonally laminated X-Shells and now VLX, a combination of the two, provide drummers with a multitude of sonic customization options.

Drum Workshop Executive Vice President and resident Drum Designer, John Good, comments, "SSC is great because it combines everything we've worked towards for so many years. We want to let drummers customize their look and their sound. SSC is a DW recommended shell configuration, but we invite drummers everywhere to create their own SSC.
